• What is Z-95's coverage area?
Z-95 is licensed to Scottville and covers a six county area. Our signal reaches Lake County to the east, Benzie County to the north and northern Muskegon County to the south. Our listening area map shows our approximate coverage area.
• Why doesn't Z-95 increase power?
Z-95 operates with the maximum power and antenna height allowed by the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC regulates the power, antenna height, and location of all FM stations to minimize any interference they may cause each other.
• Why do I occasionally experience poor reception?
Certain weather conditions can occasionally affect the reception of FM stations. Humidity, winds and temperatures can all affect reception. Z-95 has a chief engineer on duty 24 hours a day to ensure reception is maintained at a quality level.
• What can I do to improve reception?
Minimize the number of walls between your radio or place it near a window. Structural elements can interfere with reception.
• How long has Z-95 been on the air?
The Federal Communications Commission assigned the call letters of WKZC on June 21, 1982. Read about our station's history.
• Who owns Z-95?
In 1996, Z-95 was purchased by Lake Michigan Broadcasting, Inc. Z-95 is a locally owned and operated station.
• Is a group tour of Z-95 available?

• Do you take requests?
Z-95 will take requests and play them if time allows. Requests are more likely to be played during the morning show between 6am-9am. We cannot promise that your request will be played if you call one in. To place a request, call the studio line (231) 845-7207 or toll free 1-888-845-7207.
• When can I hear school closings on Z-95?
Z-95 will broadcast school, business and other closings in the morning every ten minutes. After 9am, closings will be mentioned as needed. All closings will also be posted on our website, Click Here. Please DO NOT call the station to get closings. Z-95 becomes very busy when conditions warrant closings, and we cannot speak directly to listeners over the phone. We try to keep the phone lines open for official confirmation of closings from various entities.
